Dr. Salazar offers annual fall and spring retreats located on the beautiful shores of Fire Island, New York. Participants are invited to spend the day practicing mindfulness on the beach with access to a spacious ocean-front property. This retreat is open to all practitioners of meditation, including those with no previous experience. The curriculum is personalized, supportive and experiential. Experiential learning is the process of learning through experience. This type of learning supports creativity, reflective communication and an enhancement of “real world” skills. Join us as we come together to embody the qualities of mindfulness and learn how to translate them into our day to day experiences.
“I attended one of Amanda's retreats on Fire Island this summer. I was nervous at first not knowing anyone going in, but the group of women were so friendly and open that my worries soon washed away. Amanda made it clear from the very beginning of the day that this was a safe space and I truly felt that as we journeyed through what it means to be a mindful mama. I learned that I was not alone in my day to day parenting stresses and was given incredible tools to learn how to take a breath and be mindful every day to help better myself and the environment i contribute to for my family. I would highly recommend Amanda's courses and look forward to attending another session soon.” (Kayla, West Islip)
“The Mindfulness retreat was physically, mentally and spiritually a breath of fresh air. It was amazing to embark on a journey where time seemed to stand still. Not only did Amanda hold the retreat in a gorgeous setting, she created an environment for many beautiful moments to unfold. The ease of conversation, quiet meditation, flow of the day, connections and insights left me feeling grateful and wanting more. Cannot wait until the next gathering!” (Jackie, Islip)
